Sammie’s Colorado Campground & RV Park has been family-owned since 2005. We’re dedicated to maintaining a peaceful, welcoming place to recreate and rest.

Located only 5 miles off Highway 160 and 18 miles off I-25, we’re a popular destination for people traveling from Colorado, New Mexico, Texas and the surrounding states to places like Alamosa, Cuchara Mountain Park, Durango, Santa Fe, Taos, or anywhere along the Highway of Legends Scenic Byway in La Veta, Colorado.
Who is Sammie?
“Sammie” is a nickname bestowed upon the campground’s owner, Sandra. She and her husband, David, bought the property in 2005 and ran a restaurant on site before expanding to a full motel and RV park. Sandra now runs the campground in the memory of her husband and with the help of her son and daughter-in-law.
